How do I transfer my shares from another broker to Webull?

What You Will Need

To initiate the transfer of your shares from another broker to Webull, follow these steps to ensure a smooth process:

  1. Confirm Same Name: Ensure that the shares you are transferring are registered in the same name as the Webull account you are transferring to. For example, if the shares are registered under "MS JANE SMITH," they should be transferred to the Webull account with the same name, "MS JANE SMITH."

2. Gather Required Information: When initiating the transfer, have the following information ready:

  • HIN (Holder Identification Number) associated with the departing broker account. The HIN starts with the letter 'X' followed by 10 digits.
  • Outgoing broker account number.
  • A copy of your photo ID.
  • Optional: CHESS Holding Statement

3. Check where the nearest printer is.

4. Follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the app.

Key Terms:

Broker Name: Name of the broker from where you would like to transfer your shares from (e.g., CommSec is Commonwealth Securities Limited)

Account Number: Account number with another broker

HIN: refers to your Holder Identification Number. A HIN number is 10 digits preceding with letter “X”; however, some brokers may not display your HIN in this format. If your HIN is not showing 10 digits, add zero(s) after the X to make up the required 10 digits.

Symbol: Refers to the stock code (e.g., WOW is Woolworths Group Ltd)

Quantity: Number of securities being transferred.

Fees: Webull does not charge any fees for incoming AU share transfers. However, please be aware that your departing broker may impose their own separate fees.

Processing Time: Initiating your share transfer request takes just a few minutes and can be done swiftly, and at no cost. The transfer process may take up to 5 business days. However, please note that occasional delays may occur if the departing broker does not promptly release your shares. Rest assured, we always strive to complete your transfer as quickly as possible, even if such delays are beyond our control.

If you encounter any issues or have questions during the transfer process, our client services team is here to assist you.
