Please review this page carefully for general information about detecting and preventing fraud and for helpful tips to help keep your assets secure.
General Safety Tips for Accessing Your Account
• When you have finished using your Webull account, we recommend that you log out and close your browser. Never leave a device unattended while you are logged in to your account.
• Use a unique, strong password for your account, and update your password on a regular basis. Do not use the same password for multiple accounts.
• Do not share your login information with anyone else.
• Enable two-factor authentication or other available identity verification measures for your accounts.
• Avoid accessing your account through public Wi-Fi networks or unknown private hotspots. Malicious users can use these networks to track your activity and steal information.
• Periodically reset your password (e.g., once every 3 months). If your password becomes compromised on another platform, change your brokerage account password.
Detecting False Communications and Websites
Malicious users may utilise false websites or contact you directly via telephone, text message, email, or other electronic communication to try to obtain your personal information. Often, they pose as a trusted source, such as a company where you already have an account.
The following may indicate that a communication, website, or mobile application is false or potentially dangerous:
• The communication requests that you enter your login information or prompts you to change your password. The communication may include warnings or threats designed to create false urgency, including without limitation warnings that your account may be suspended, or your property may be seized or otherwise forfeited.
• The communication claims to be from someone in a position of authority requesting your personal information or access to your personal device or files.
• The communication prompts you to download a file, follow a link, or fill in a form specifying personal information. Additionally, you should exercise caution when a communication directs you to download a mobile application from a source other than a legitimate recognized mobile app store (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
• The URL of the website or email domain may appear inconsistent with the company or website it purports to represent. When accessing your Webull account, be sure that you are on an official Webull website at www.webull.com.au
• The email address, phone number, or other contact information of the person sending the communication appears inconsistent with the company or the individual they claim to be. Webull will always contact you through an official Webull channel (such as the Webull App or an email from a Webull domain) and will never contact you from a Gmail, Hotmail, or other email provider account.
Protecting Yourself from Fraud
The following tips can help you to protect yourself from false communications and websites:
• Carefully review account statements and other relevant materials for suspicious activity that may indicate fraud. • Do not respond directly to suspicious communications requesting personal information. • Use up-to-date antivirus software. • Do not open suspicious communications. If you suspect that a communication or website may be malicious, don’t visit any links or download any content from that communication. • If you’re ever uncertain about the legitimacy of a communication or a website, contact the relevant company directly to ask about the communication. • Keep your devices and applications up to date. Periodic updates frequently include security measures designed to address vulnerabilities. • Notify your broker if you intend to travel abroad. • Stay abreast of important consumer alerts from the Australian National Anti-Scam Centre (Scamwatch) at Report a scam | Scamwatch and ASIC’s Moneysmart website What to do if you've been scammed - Moneysmart.gov.au
