What is a Security Holder Reference Number (SRN)?

A Security Holder Reference Number (SRN) is a unique identifier assigned to individual shareholders or security holders in Australia. It is a ten-character alphanumeric code, usually starting with an "I," that is used to identify your holdings. When you purchase shares, the SRN is issued to you by the share registry or the issuer of the security. Your SRN remains the same throughout your ownership of the security and needs to be provided when communicating with the share registry or issuer regarding your holdings.
