What is the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX)?

The ASX (Australian Securities Exchange) is the primary stock exchange in Australia. It is a marketplace where publicly traded companies can list their shares for investors to buy and sell.


The ASX provides a platform for companies to raise capital by issuing shares to investors, and for investors to trade those shares with one another. The exchange operates electronically and is open for trading Monday through Friday from 10am to 4pm AEST.
